How APVISO Integrates with Confluence

APVISO's Confluence integration automatically publishes penetration testing reports and finding documentation to your Confluence workspace. For organizations that use Confluence as their knowledge management platform, this integration builds a searchable, versioned security knowledge base without manual documentation effort.

Automated Report Publishing

When an APVISO scan completes, the integration creates a Confluence page containing the full scan report. The page includes an executive summary with finding counts by severity, detailed findings with reproduction steps and evidence, remediation guidance for each vulnerability, and scan metadata including duration, target, and agent activity summary.

Pages are organized under a configurable parent page, creating a hierarchical structure grouped by target and scan date. This makes it easy to navigate to any historical scan report.

Individual Finding Pages

Beyond scan reports, APVISO can create individual Confluence pages for each finding. These pages contain deep-dive documentation including the vulnerability description, technical details, reproduction steps, evidence screenshots, remediation guidance, and retest history. Finding pages are linked from the scan report page and tagged with Confluence labels for severity and category.

Search and Discovery

Confluence's full-text search indexes all APVISO-generated content. Search for a specific vulnerability type, endpoint, or remediation technique to find relevant past findings and reports. This is especially valuable when the same type of vulnerability appears in a new context — your team can reference how it was previously identified and remediated.

Compliance and Audit Trail

For organizations subject to compliance requirements like PCI DSS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001, Confluence pages serve as evidence of penetration testing activities. The automatically generated documentation includes scan dates, finding details, remediation timelines, and retest verification — all the evidence auditors typically request. Confluence's version history provides an immutable audit trail showing when findings were documented and updated.

Template Customization

APVISO provides default page templates optimized for readability, but you can customize them to match your organization's documentation standards. Add your company logo, adjust section ordering, include custom fields, and apply Confluence macros. Templates are defined in the APVISO integration settings and applied consistently to all generated pages.
