How APVISO Integrates with Discord

APVISO's Discord integration delivers real-time penetration testing alerts directly to your Discord channels using webhooks. For teams that rely on Discord as their primary communication platform, this integration ensures security findings are visible where your team already works.

Rich Embed Notifications

When APVISO's AI agents discover a vulnerability, the integration sends a rich embed message to your configured Discord channel. Each embed is color-coded by severity — red for Critical, orange for High, yellow for Medium, and blue for Low. The embed includes the vulnerability title, affected endpoint, a brief description, and a direct link to the full finding in the APVISO dashboard.

This visual approach makes it easy to scan a Discord channel and immediately understand the severity distribution of recent findings. Critical findings stand out visually, ensuring they get immediate attention.

Channel-Based Alert Routing

You can configure multiple Discord webhooks to route alerts to different channels. A common setup sends Critical and High findings to a #security-urgent channel while Medium and Low findings go to a #security-backlog channel. You can also route by target domain, sending findings for different applications to their respective team channels.

Each webhook operates independently with its own event filters. One webhook might receive only finding notifications while another receives scan lifecycle events like start, progress, and completion updates.

Scan Lifecycle Notifications

Beyond individual findings, APVISO sends notifications for key scan events. When a scan starts, Discord receives a message with the target and scan configuration. During the scan, optional progress updates show the current phase and agent activity. When the scan completes, a summary embed lists the total findings by severity, scan duration, and a link to the full report.

Setup and Configuration

Setting up the Discord integration takes just a few minutes. Create a webhook in your Discord server's channel settings, paste the URL into APVISO's integration configuration, and select your notification preferences. No bot permissions, OAuth flows, or server administrator access are required — anyone who can create webhooks in a channel can set up the integration.

Team Workflows

Many security teams use Discord threads to discuss specific findings. When APVISO posts a Critical finding, team members can create a thread on that message to coordinate the response. The finding details are right there in the thread context, eliminating the need to switch between tools during incident triage.
