Understanding Credits
How the credit system works, what each model preset costs, and when credits reset.
What Are Credits?
Credits are the unit of consumption in APVISO. Each scan you run costs a certain number of credits depending on the model preset you choose. Your subscription includes a monthly credit allocation that resets at the start of each billing period.
Credit Costs by Preset
- Free — 0 credits. Limited depth, great for quick checks.
- Low — 29 credits. Covers common vulnerabilities with moderate depth.
- Medium — 59 credits. Balanced depth and breadth.
- High — 129 credits. Thorough analysis including business logic.
- Ultra — 299 credits. Maximum depth and coverage.
Monthly Allocations
- Starter: 70 credits/month.
- Professional: 150 credits/month.
- Business: 300 credits/month.
- Enterprise: 750 credits/month.
Billing Period Reset
Credits reset on your subscription renewal date. Unused credits do not roll over to the next period. For example, if your billing period starts on the 15th of each month, your credit counter resets to your plan's allocation on the 15th.
Checking Your Balance
Your remaining credit balance is always visible in the top navigation bar. You can also view detailed credit usage history in Settings → Billing → Usage.
What Happens When You Run Out
If you attempt to start a scan without sufficient credits:
- If you have Pay-As-You-Go enabled, the scan proceeds and is billed to your PAYG balance.
- If PAYG is not enabled, the scan is rejected with an insufficient credits error.
- Scheduled scans are silently skipped when credits are exhausted, and you receive a notification.
Credit Refunds
- Cancelled scans: credits are refunded in full.
- Failed scans: credits are refunded in full.
- Timed-out scans (3-hour limit): credits are not refunded because partial results are delivered.
